NOTICE: MISSING IN ACTION
Jim Rage (full name James Gandhi Rage) is our glorious leader and the founder of Jim Rage's Elite Zombie Hunting Squadron. Having earned a living as a freelance hunter-for-hire since age sixteen, Jim finally decided to go professional in 1986, and used his savings to create the Squad. Envisioned as an efficient and cheap extermination service agency (as well as an effective information resource) JREZHS traveled New England and the East Coast. Eventually in 1988 they settled in Blue Springs, Vermont because the area had an incredibly intense zombie infestation and good tax incentives.
JREZHS's fame and glory remained largely confined to the United States until The Mad Hatter whipped up a really amazing website. Immediately, despite the spelling errors, the Squad was rocketed to new heights of international recognition and received more applicants than ever before. Currently, JREZHS has 234 employees and a UK branch.
Jim Rage is the world’s greatest authority on zombies and undead pseudo-life. Although it is known that he worked the CIA in the early seventies, most of Jim Rage’s past employed him has been purposely obscured to protect his identity. Even the majority of the squad members know very little about him, save that he has cold, steely eyes, and a dangerous moustache. It has even been speculated that "Jim Rage" may not even be Jim Rage's real name, only an alias to further confuse potential enemies.
There appears to be some vague connection between Jim and "Mr. Nighttime" the lethal leader of the fearsome Fifth Column. Whatever the case, we do know some things about his life such as: he once lived in South Burlington, has an ongoing feud with the CIA, and he put out a spoken-word album produced by Bruce Dickinson called Dead October in 1989.
We also know that he was the son of a meat-packer and hopped trains to Tennessee early on in his life. His first encounter with a zombie was in the Louisiana bayou. He once taught at a prestigious Massachusetts university (the name of which we are not at liberty to divulge), and knew Dr. Parson Knowles III. His favorite weapon is the chainsaw, and his favorite soft drink is Moxie, because it calms his tortured soul.
Jim Rage told Baxter Black he holds several PHDs in advanced theoretical physics, chemistry, psychology, and parapsychology. He is also a professional-level weapons engineer, building special customized weapons for JREZHS and keeping them in repair. He is highly interested in Zen and Taoism, and meditates in place of sleep. Jim Rage is also an artistic polymath, being an accomplished painter, automobile mechanic, violinist, and wood carver.
Having fought and studied zombies for his entire life, discovering new forms of "unlife" as he goes he is indeed a "squad-of-one." He is especially fond of chain-saws and flame-throwers to get the job done, although he can readily make use of any object at his disposal (as he demonstrated in the 2000 Jim Rage Job Fair Summit by subduing five martial arts masters using only moist towlets and M&M's). He is also a master swordsman and is legendary for his mad skills with the katakana. He refuses to sign autographs or give interviews, preferring to devote his every hour to designing more efficient zombie-hunting weapons and extermination strategies. He is a vegetarian.
While Jim occasionally answers letters forwarded to him by the Mad Hatter and the infamous Peberdy brothers, he likes to remain anonymous and orchestrate JREZHS activities and operations from H.Q. He does not care to make public appearances, and sleeps in his office. Jim Rage has the 200 page Zombie Hunting Manual (a trimmed down version is available on this website) locked in his safe at all time. Jim is a genius at Risk, the game of world conquest and often plays against his Elite Zombie Hunters.
Jim Rage says: "We should all be concerned about the dead. Because like it or not, it's a demographic we will all be joining one day."
